Black-capped Lory is a species of parrot that can be found in tropical rainforest of New Guinea. I often watch it when I guide tourists in the forest of Raja Ampat, Sorong, Tambrauw and Manokwari. The bird eats fruit, pollen and nectar of flowers. Perhaps, it eats insects too.
I created the following drawing of Black-capped Lory hanging on the trunk of a tree the with background of steep slope of Susnguakti forest and the blue sea of Cendrawasih bay (formerly called Geelvinkbaai during the Dutch time).
