Doom Island - This is a small island in front of Sorong city. Dutch government used to concentrate their administrative works in Doom. Doom can be explored on foot. Visitors who go to Doom can still see old buildings and houses that are unique if we compare them with modern houses in Sorong city or other parts of Indonesia. Pedicaps are also available for visitors who want to experience how it is like to enjoy the ride around the island by a man-powered vehicle.

Buddhist Temple on a hill - This building complex has got oriental style architecture. They stand on a hill overlooking some areas of Sorong city including the main harbor, and Doom island. Hiking up the hill, visitors can hear the calls of birds such as Eurasian Treesparrow, Yellow-vented Bulbul, Willie Wagtail, Sahul Sunbird, Torresian Crow and etc.

Traditional Market of Remu - Various kinds of products from agriculture produce to electronics are traded in this market. Visitors can buy fruits, souvenirs and even dried-salted fish from the market. 

Mangrove Forest - this is a recommended site for visitors who like nature, birds and butterfly. The coastal plants that grow in the area are the natural habitat of Sahul Sunbird, Blue-fronted Fig Parrot, Orange-fronted Fruit Dove, Shining Flycatcher, White-bellied Cuckooshrike, and Collared Imperial Pigeon. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of mangrove forest by walking around the long wooden boardwalk.

Love Hill - This is a tourist attraction that is located a little outside of town. There are long boardwalks that visitors can explore to see beautiful landscape with tropical rainforest. For birdwatching, mornings and late afternoons are the recommended time. 

Things to bring- visitors who are interested in taking this private Sorong tour can bring camera, binoculars, sunglasses, sunblock lotion, and anti insect spray.
