We also did night birding every time after dinner from 20:00 to 21:30. Our targets were Papuan Boobook, Papuan Frogmouth, Marbled Frogmouth and Hook-billed Kingfisher. In the first and second night walk, we saw Papuan Frogmouth and Papuan Boobook. In the third night, we saw Hook-billed Kingfisher after we did hiking deeper into the forest. Unfortunately, I could not take picture of the bird because he flew away before I was able to activate my digiscoping system.
During the morning and afternoon birding, we saw a lot of unique birds such as Olive-crowned Flowerpecker, Moustached Treeswift, Glossy-mantled Manucode, Papuan Eclectus, Great-billed Parrot, Blyth's Hornbill, Hooded Butcherbird, Mimic Honeyeater, and etc. We saw our main targets too, i.e.: Wilson's Bird of Paradise and Red Bird of Paradise.
If you are interested in taking a birding tour.
